This practice recipe features an upbeat backing track that has a bit of a folky/country feel.

It’s a fun track to practice the E Major scale over.

Practice Recipe Steps:

  • Practice the chord progression using the example chord voicings.
  • Practice the arpeggios to focus on the chord tones (the notes that make up each chord) of each chord.
  • Use the 2 scale positions to practice soling over the progression. Be sure to focus on the chord tones while playing over each chord.

Once you get comfortable playing this in E, try transposing it to other keys.
