This progression features a couple chords labeled as ‘5’ chords. Also often referred to as ‘power chords’, you’re just playing the root note and the 5th (and typically the root again an octave higher). 5 chords usually have a bit of a darker sound than full triads, and since you’re not playing the 3rd, they’re not really either major or minor chords.
An E minor pentatonic scale and an E Natural Minor scale work well for this (the pentatonic scale is the minor scale, just with a couple less notes).
